he that doeth righteousness is of god
Righteousness according to the bible means being in right standing with God. Many people ask if it is possible to live a righteous life considering the limitations of the flesh.
From our text of 1John 3:7 that it says that anyone who doesn’t do righteously is not of God.
Also 1John 3:6 says that anyone who abides in God doesn’t commit sin.
Also 1John 3:9 says anyone who is born of God doesn’t sin. 1John 3:10 says something similar.
These scriptures tell us that there’s a clear difference between those who are of God and those who aren’t.
So many people believe it is impossible to live a righteous life but in Romans 6:14 we learn that sin isn’t meant to have dominion over believers because the believer is not under the law but under grace.
This means the believer has dominion over sin. This means it’s a thing of choice for a believer.
Romans 6:12-13 talks about not letting sin have dominion over us and not yielding ourselves to sin.
If you have not given your life to Jesus, pray this prayer with me:
Lord Jesus, I come to you today asking you to come into my life and make me a new man. I surrender my life wholly to You to be my Lord and Saviour, give me the grace to yield myself to righteousness in Jesus name I pray, Amen.
Pray for God’s grace to yield yourself to righteousness in Jesus name, Amen.
